Poll backs axe for Inheritance Tax

A poll carried out by the Express shows that people would like to see inheritance tax scrapped. The survey saw 92% of respondents call for the levy to be axed, while 8% said it should remain as it is. The poll comes after an Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development report suggested IHT should become a large part of tax revenue, post-pandemic. In his March Budget, Chancellor Rishi Sunak announced that the threshold for IHT would be frozen at its current rate for the tax years between 2022 and 2026.
